Submissions

Authors are invited to submit manuscripts Medivara Journal of Nursing and Midwifery   through the journal’s online submission system. Authors may also monitor the progress and status of their submissions through their registered accounts.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to ensure that their manuscript complies with all submission requirements listed below. Manuscripts that do not conform to these guidelines may be returned to the authors for correction prior to editorial review.

Before submission, authors must confirm that:

  • The manuscript has not been previously published and is not currently under consideration by another journal. 
  • The manuscript file is prepared in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) or Rich Text Format (RTF). 
  • The manuscript complies with the journal’s formatting, stylistic, and bibliographic requirements as outlined in the Author Guidelines. 
  • The manuscript has been prepared in accordance with the double-blind peer-review policy, ensuring that author identities are removed from the main manuscript file. 
  • All supplementary documents required by the journal have been completed and uploaded. 

Author Guidelines

General Writing Instructions

  1. Manuscripts submitted to Medivara Journal of Nursing and Midwifery must be original works that have not been published or submitted simultaneously to other journals. Authors are required to complete and submit an Author Statement Form as part of the submission process. 
  2. Manuscripts must be written in clear, concise, and grammatically correct English. 
  3. All manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system. Authors who do not yet have an account are required to register as authors before submission. 

The following supplementary documents must be uploaded during the submission process:

  • Signed Copyright Transfer Agreement (CTA) 
  • Signed Author Statement Form 
  • Signed Title Page Form 
  • Signed Cover Letter 
  • Signed Conflict of Interest Disclosure Form 
  1. Manuscripts must be prepared according to the journal template and author guidelines provided by the journal. 
  2. Revised manuscripts should be resubmitted promptly through the online submission system. Authors are required to upload: 
  • A revision note responding to all reviewer comments, including the location of revisions within the manuscript. 
  • A revised manuscript file with all modifications clearly highlighted. 

Revised manuscripts returned later than three months after the editorial decision may be considered as new submissions.

  1. Upon receipt of a manuscript, the Editorial Office will provide an acknowledgment of submission and initial processing notification to the corresponding author. 
  2. Medivara Journal of Nursing and Midwifery   currently does not charge submission fees, article processing charges (APCs), or publication fees. All publication costs are supported by the journal publisher. 

Specific Writing Instructions

  1. Research Article Format

Manuscripts should be prepared using Microsoft Word on A4 paper size. The manuscript should use:

  • Times Arial font 
  • 14 pt font size for the title 
  • 12 pt font size for the main text 
  • 1.15 line spacing 
  • Margins: 2 cm (left, right, bottom) and 1.5 cm (top) 

The manuscript length should generally range between 10–12 pages. All pages and lines must be numbered consecutively.

Manuscript Structure

  1. Title 
    • Written in English 
    • Concise and informative 
    • Maximum 20 words 
  2. Author Information 
    • Full author names without academic titles 
    • Institutional affiliations and addresses 
    • Corresponding author contact information 
  3. Abstract 
    • Written in English 
    • Maximum 250 words 
    • Includes background, objectives, methods, results, and conclusions 
    • Includes 5 keywords arranged alphabetically 
  4. Introduction 
    • Background and rationale 
    • Literature support 
    • Research objectives and significance 
  5. Materials and Methods 
    • Detailed explanation of methods, materials, instruments, and procedures 
    • Ethical approval information where applicable 
    • Sufficient detail to allow reproducibility 
  6. Results 
    • Presented clearly and systematically 
    • Supported by tables, figures, graphs, or illustrations where necessary 
    • Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively 
  7. Discussion 
    • Interpretation and analysis of findings 
    • Comparison with previous studies 
    • Scientific implications and possible developments 
  8. Conclusion 
    • Concise summary of the study findings and implications 
  9. Acknowledgments 
    • Recognition of contributors, institutions, or funding support 
  10. Author Contributions 
  • Description of each author’s contribution to the study and manuscript preparation 
  1. Funding Statement 
  • Disclosure of all funding sources or grant support 
  • If unavailable, state “Not applicable.” 
  1. Data Availability Statement 
  • Information regarding the accessibility of supporting data and materials 
  1. Conflict of Interest Statement 
  • Declaration of financial or non-financial competing interests 
  • If none, state:
    “The authors declare that there is no conflict of interest regarding the publication of this article.” 
  1. Ethical Approval 
  • Include ethics committee approval number and institution where applicable 
  • If not applicable, clearly state so 
  1. Informed Consent 
  • Required for studies involving identifiable human participants 
  • If not applicable, state “Not applicable.” 
  1. References 
  • References should follow the Harvard (author-date) referencing style 
  • A minimum of 25 references is recommended 
  • At least 60% of references should originate from international journal articles published within the last 10 years

Authors submitting manuscripts to Medivara Journal of Nursing and Midwifery  agree that, upon acceptance for publication, the copyright of the article will be transferred to the journal. Authors retain the moral rights to their work and will continue to be acknowledged as the original creators of the publication.
